Be Easy Gro Fe Lure is an 8% double IPA from Be Easy Brewing, based in Hirosaki, in Aomori, Japan. It’s part of the “Great Things From Aomori” series, so it’s unknown whether it’s a one-off or not. Be Easy Gro Fe Lure can be found in can and on tap. Be Easy Gro Fe Lure is brewed with Azacca, Citra, Idaho 7, Simcoe, and Strata hops, where, last time I checked, none of these came from Aomori. And as for the name? Be Easy Gro Fe Lure takes its name from an Aomori embroidery store that designed the label.

Be Easy Gro Fe Lure : Aroma & Taste

Excuse the chair – I wanted to get a picture of this before I drank it as the aroma coming off of Be Easy Gro Fe Lure was wonderful. A massive hit of dankness alongside some pineapple welcomed me in but I had to hold my horses as the beer had just come out of the fridge and the aromas, as such, were being muted. Letting it warm up, just a touch mind as it was 31c, was a good idea as a cacophony of aromas opened up. To say Be Easy Gro Fe Lure was forthcoming would be an understatement – a massive citrus citrus and tropical aroma welcomed my nose in with lemon and grapefruit alongside some mango shining through. Very little malt came through, though there was just a touch of sweetness towards the end of drinking, but by that point, Be Easy Gro Fe Lure had warmed up somewhat.

Though Be Easy Gro Fe Lure is a double IPA, it lacked, in a good way mind, the massive bitter punch that a “regular” double IPA comes with. While it was all about the hops in the beer, I suspect they had been added in late into the boil as there was just a modicum of bitterness though it was muted, for want of a better word. The flavours though were firmly entrenched with a decent hit of citrus and tropical fruits coming through – think lemon and grapefruit, alongside some mango and pineapple.

Be Easy Gro Fe Lure : The Bottom Line

Listen, Be Easy, if you read these, then make this a regular beer. Please. It’s too good not to have all-year round when it’s this fresh.
