Uchu Astro Aura is an 8% hazy double IPA from Uchu Brewing, based in Yamanashi. It’s part of their canned and draught lineup, though its availability at the time of writing is unknown. It was first released in April 2024 and is brewed using Citra, Galaxy, Motueka, Nelson Sauvin hops.

Uchu Astro Aura : Appearance

So thick and hazy that you could probably use a knife to cut through this. A slightly off golden straw colour with a plump white head that left lacing down the side.

Uchu Astro Aura : Aroma

This is one aromatic beer – lots of fruitiness going on with lemon and pineapple, alongside some orange and mango as it warms up. A touch sweet but not cloying on the nose, with some alcohol heat present as it warms up. Passionfruit in the background too.

Uchu Astro Aura : Taste

Low bitterness, high fruitiness. Like in the nose, this beer is all about the fruity tones and the lemon, mango, orange, passionfruit, and pineapple all combine together. Akin to drinking a mixed fruit juice with some alcohol thrown in for the adults. Light sweetness in the after taste but well balanced.

Uchu Astro Aura : The Bottom Line

Like Uchu Crab Nebula, I am impresed with the quality of this beer. Very fruity and drinkable. Would buy again.
