Joynt Brewing : The Bottom Line

Get down to Joynt Brewing if you’re in the area for some relaxing times and friendly conversation, but kick back and ignore the prices if you can. The location of Joynt Brewing means that the prices are high, but here’s hoping that when they begin to brew their own beers in 2023, the prices will go down, or the sizes will go up. The whole place is non-smoking and when the weather is good, the views are hard to beat.

Joynt Brewing : The Full Review

The day I went down to Ito was meant to be different – I was planning on cycling down to Yugawara and then taking the train back home but my shoulder had other ideas. So it was all swiftly changed and went down on the Odoriko in the hope of finding some craft beer along the way. When I did a quick search, Joynt Brewing came up on the beach front of Ito, just across from Orange Beach, so plans were made, tickets were bought, and I sat in comfort as I zoomed down to Ito.

Joynt Brewing opened in July 2022 but at the time of writing, the brewery had not opened due to Japanese bureaucracy and the process taking longer than expected. The forthcoming brewpub should be open in early 2023, so we’re looking forward to going down to Ito again to try some of their beers later on in the year. Joynt Brewing is located about 10 minutes walk from Ito station, on the seafront.

Joynt Brewing : Atmosphere & Interior

As you walk along Route 135, you can’t help but smile when you have some fantastic weather of blue skies and a nice cooling breeze from the sea. Now have that, with some cold beers on hand and that’s how relaxed I felt at Joynt Brewing. There is space inside for about 30 people, and when the weather is nice, the patio doors are opened up and there are also some benches that appear outside. While the brewpub is located next to the busy Route 135, you can still see the sea and get the refreshing breeze.

The whole place is non-smoking and has no table charge as well. There is also some free wifi for those who don’t want to enjoy the views. Moreover, Joynt Brewing is also pet friendly, as well as being family friendly with plenty of board games and table football to keep the children entertained.

Joynt Brewing : Beer & Tap Information

Unfortunately, on the day I went to Joynt Brewing, as mentioned, there were no in-house beers on tap, but there are up to 7 taps of beers on, along with some bottles and cans to enjoy. Because of the location of Joynt Brewing, it has meant that prices are not cheap due to increased costs of shipping, and the beers start at ¥900 for around 350ml, though prices did not include tax. At the time of writing, there was only one size of beer and no option for beer flights or takeaway beers; however, that may change in the future once they have their own brewery in action.

Joynt Brewing : Food Information

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to eat anything at Joynt Brewing though there were some small offerings of hot dogs and crisps for purchase. The menus were in English and in Japanese but the owners, Marie and Brian, both speak English and Japanese so there is no problem there in terms of ordering or enquiring about the beer and food on tap.
