Vertere Yokohama Taproom (Hinodecho / Yokohama)

Vertere Yokohama Taproom : The Bottom Line

Though it had only been open for less than a week, Vertere Yokohama Taproom proved to be a good little spot to try out some beers from Vertere and it also means I don’t have to trek out to west Tokyo in the future. There was a decent selection of beers on tap on the day that I went, and there were some beers to takeaway as well. Though there isn’t much in terms of food on here, there’s a few snacks to get you through. Perhaps the main downside to this place is that cash isn’t accepted – so come with your cards.

Vertere Yokohama Taproom Inside

Vertere Yokohama Taproom : Background

Vertere Yokohama Taproom opened in January 2026, and is the first foray of the “hype” breweries to make their move south of the Tamagawa. It’s the fourth one in their chain, with the original place in Okutama, as well as bars in Eifuku and Tachikawa coming before this place.

This taproom is located in the Noge area of Yokohama, an area known for its vibrant nightlife, hole-in-the-wall drinking establishments, and just general drinking. This bar is located around a five minute walk from Hinodecho station on the Keikyu Main Line, though you can also get here from Sakuragicho station if you fancy a walk along the river before, or after, coming here.

Vertere Yokohama Taproom : Atmosphere & Interior

Vertere Yokohama Taproom is located in what appears to be a renovated area of Noge, with steel containers having been repurposed for shops. It’s located on the second floor of the area; however, there is no disabled access to the bar, with the only way in being some step stairs.

Inside, there is space for a 20 people, with all of them standing, though there are a few counter seats at the bar for those with tired legs. On the day I went, the space was filled up within 30 minutes, and at the table I was at, there was six people standing shoulder to shoulder. The whole space is non-smoking and there is no table charge either. In the background was a mixture of rock and pop music – not so loud to distract from the conversation, but just loud enough so you can listen away if you’re here by yourself.

Vertere Yokohama Taproom : Beer & Tap Information

With this being the taproom for Vertere, all 10 taps at the bar were dedicated to their beers. The beers come in three sizes, though it’s dependent on the strength of the beer : regular (330 ml) from ¥1,000, large (475 ml) from ¥1,300, and then “onesize” (250 ml) from ¥1,300. Though there are a decent number of taps here, there’s no beer flight, mainly because there’s pretty much no space to store the glasses.

As you enter though, there is a large fridge of Vertere beers that can be bought; however, these beers are takeaway only so don’t think about buying and drinking them in the store. There’s no happy hour offer either, in spite of this place being open from quite early in the day compared to other places in the area.

Vertere Yokohama Taproom : Food & Menu Information

There’s just a small selection of snacks on at this taproom, with some vegetarian options to choose from. The menus have enough English on them to order from, though you may need a Japanese reader for the more complicated explanations and descriptions on the menus. Finally, all of the prices here include tax, so there’s no nasty surprises though it is pay as you go instead of at the end.
