Doppo Beer by Miyashita Shuzo

Background

Miyashita Shuzo are best known for their sake inside of Japan but outside of Japan, they are better known as the makers of the Doppo range of beers. Based in Okayama, Miyashita Shuzo have been making the Doppo range since 1995 and tag themselves as the pioneer of Japanese craft beer – a bold claim to make but they have been around since the start of craft beer in Japan.

The water for all of their products comes from the underground water running 80 to 100m below Asahi River bed. Similar to the famous “Omachi no Reisen” water running nearby our brewery for its quality awarded by Ministry of the Environment as one of the 100 famed mineral waters in Japan, the underground water of Asahi River bed is soft and good for both manufacturing beer and sake.
