Fujisawa Beer House (Fujisawa / Kanagawa)

Fujisawa Beer House : The Bottom Line

There is some serious money behind Fujisawa Beer House, and it’s evident from the moment you walk in, though the beers are still a work in progress, so that money could be better spent on improving them. However, it’s nice that there is a community space in the northen part of Fujisawa, and on the day we went, there was a diverse group of clientele – from young to old; salarymen to housewives. The food itself is pretty good, and the whole space is non-smoking, and has no table charge. Finally, there is a small space outside that you can take your dog too.

Fujisawa Beer Inside

Fujisawa Beer House : Background

Fujisawa Beer House opened in August 2025, and is supported BioChromato, which deals with analytical equipment and research instruments. The project was initiated by three alumni from Oshimizu High School, now Fujisawa-Seiryu Senior High School, including the representative director Kinoshita-san, who came together to create “Fujisawa Beer House” because they felt the region of Fujisawa, despite being central in Shōnan, lacked its own prominent brewery.

They saw creating a craft beer business as a way to have a more visible, approachable project in the local community. They aim to use the company’s analytical know-how to measure aroma, flavour components, etc., in the beer; a somewhat unusual approach for a brewery. Located in the Honcho area of Fujisawa, the brewpub is a 10 minute walk from both Fujisawa station and Fujisawa-Hommachi station.

Fujisawa Beer House : Atmosphere & Interior

As you entere Fujisawa Beer House, you’re greeted by a large open space, with high celings, and glass windows that open the brewery up for viewing. It’s very light and airy inside, even on the grey, overcast day that we popped into the brewpub for a couple of drinks. There’s space inside for around 30 people, at various tables, wall sofas, and bar counter seating, alongside a small terrace area outside when the weather is nice. This outside space is primarily for those with dogs, so you can bring yours along on a walk, and grab a couple of beers. The whole place is non-smoking, has no table charge, and there is also some free Wi-Fi you can connect to.

Fujisawa Beer House : Beer & Tap Information

On the day we went to Fujisawa Beer House, there were only three taps of craft beer on, though there were six taps available it seemed. There are plans to expand the number of beers on tap as the brewery production increases. The beers come in two sizes : medium (310 ml) at ¥750, with large beers (420 ml) at ¥950. There is also a three beer flight that option with any three 190 ml beers at ¥1,400. Fujisawa Beer House also has some bottles to takeaway though I’d give it some time before doing so. The best of the bunch was the Kocho Red Ale, but more about that later.

Fujisawa Beer House : Food & Menu Information

There’s a wide and varied menu of food on at the brewpub, with them trying to use as many ingredients where possible from the farms located in Fujisawa city. The buffalo wings are damned good, with a varying level of spice, and the chips were tasty as well. There are some vegetarian options on the menu, with most of the menus having enough English on them to order. All of the prices include tax too.
