Btaps Toranomon : The Bottom Line

Btaps Toranomon was a lucky find for me on the day I went drinking in Toranomon and I wholeheartedly recommend coming here when you’re in the area. The prices are extremely reasonable considering where you are and there is a good selection of beers on tap. The whole place is non-smoking and also has free wifi without any table charge.

Btaps Toranomon Inside

Btaps Toranomon : Background

Btaps Toranomon is part of the chain of Takagi Food chain with another branch located in Kamakura’s Komachi Dori. This branch in Toranomon is the second to have opened and did so on April 30th 2024. The bar is located in the Toranomon Hills Business tower and I only came across it because we were walking from the previous bar at Dam Brewery Restaurant in the direction of the Toranomon Yokocho.

With Btaps Toranomon being located in the Toranomon HIlls Business Tower, the closest station to it is Toranomon Hills which is on both the Ginza and Hibiya lines. It’s about a 5 minute walk through the winding corridors but there is signage near the bar’s location.

Btaps Toranomon : Atmosphere & Interior

Though Btaps Toranomon is underground, it appears to be much lighter inside than most underground bars and that is due to the large windows that stretch from the ceiling to the floor. This gives the appearance of much more space than there really is and also helps to give Btaps Toranomon a more relaxed and open feeling.

There’s plenty of seating with around 50 seats at various combinations around the bar – either at tables, a big shared counter table in the middle of the bar, or some bar counter seating. The whole place is non-smoking and Btaps Toranomon has no table charger either. I did notice some free wifi in the area, but I am unsure whether this was from Btaps Toranomon themself or the Toranomon Hills Business Tower.

Btaps Toranomon : Beer & Tap Information

Btaps Toranomon has 13 taps of beer on with two of these dedicated to a macro beers though one is a lager and the other is a witbier. Interesting. The other taps are all craft beer with both domestic beers and imports on offer. The beers come in two sizes : half pint (270 ml) from 800 and US pints (473 ml) from 1,200 – with all prices including tax. The imported beers come in a lot higher but then I was very much surprised with the prices here.

I didn’t notice any beer flights or happy hour prices at Btaps Toranomon – a bit of a shame as there were a number of beers I wanted to try on the day but I didn’t want to drink pints of 9% double IPAs with so much on the menu.

Btaps Toranomon : Food & Menu Information

I didn’t feel like eating much at Btaps Toranomon – I just wasn’t hungry – though there were onion rings on the menu so I had to have a portion of those. The menus for the food were in Japanese but I was offered some English menus and that was very helpful for a group that came in later and didn’t speak and couldn’t read Japanese. The food at Btaps Toranomon was pretty simple, with some options for vegetarians, but like the drinks menu, all the prices include tax.
