Far Yeast Peach Nightcrawler NE IPA is a 6.5% NE IPA from Far Yeast Brewing Company, based in Yamanashi, Japan. It’s part of their limited edition range, and they’ve taken the Far Yeast Nightcrawler as a base, and collaborated with Cafe Le Pesca, a coffee shop in Yamanashi. The peach juice is sourced from locally grown peaches, and is added during the secondary fermentation stage which occurs in the bottles.
Far Yeast Peach Nightcrawler NE IPA The Full Review
Do not adjust your screens! Far Yeast Peach Nightcrawler NE IPA is supposed to look like this – I think?! A muddy brown colour with lots of grey flecks of yeast floating around. If it isn’t supposed to look like this, then something has gone seriously wrong. Had the peach juice oxidised and produce this off colour? It really didn’t look appetising or drinkable in the slightest. The head was a clean white colour though it didn’t last long. The aroma was definitely peaches with some subtle pineapple and tropical fruits coming along too.
The body was more of the same with a bitter peach flavour coming through straightaway with some vague tropical fruits of mango and pineapple coming through. But it was a bit one-dimensional really. Bitterness was astringent but it left a harsh grainy texture on the palate once it had been drunk.
Far Yeast Peach Nightcrawler NE IPA The Bottom Line
Far Yeast Peach Nightcrawler NE IPA is a drinkable effort but I much preferred the original version.
