Baird Beer Station Numazu (Numazu / Shizuoka)

Baird Beer Station Numazu : The Bottom Line

Numazu without a Baird Beer seemed weird for a while but when Baird Beer Station Numazu opened, things were right with the craft beer universe of Japan. It’s smaller than the Baird Numazu Fishmarket location and less cosy in comparison, but after a couple of beers, then it’s all good. While the beer menu is the same as other Baird Beer bars, the inclusion of being able to bring your own food in is a welcome addition, and also helps support the local stores. The whole place is non-smoking and has no table charge either.

Baird Beer Station Numazu Inside

Baird Beer Station Numazu : Background

After twenty-five years, the original location of Baird Beer in Numazu closed down. It was a sad day as we had spent a fair few times in the bar, but with closer locations available to us in Kanto, it did seem to be an effort to get down there. Plus with Numazu slowly growing in terms of craft beer bars, the original location was a little bit too far out of the way to really capitalise on the growing crowd around the station.

As such, in January 2026, Baird Beer Station Numazu opened up in central Numazu, with it being a ten minute walk to Numazu station. The bar is located in the Agetsuchicho area of Numazu, and is surrounded by smaller shops along the shopping arcade.

Baird Beer Station Numazu : Atmosphere & Interior

As you enter Baird Beer Station Numazu, you’re greeted by a few tables at the front of the store, and then a long bar counter that resembles something out of a British style pub. Complimented with some beer engine taps, and a long row of taps, it’s a familiar site, reminiscent of the Baird Bashamichi Taproom location. In comparison to the OG location in Numazu, this branch seemed longer inside, and also brighter, but that could be due to the large amount of overhead lighting, where the Fishmarket location had big windows overlooking the port.

Inside, there is space for around 30 people, with two long counters at the bar, and along the wall. Moreover, there are some tables at the front of the store, and even some outside seating when the weather is nice. As I sat down and drank a couple of beers after a long cycle, I couldn’t help but notice how much of the interior from the Fishmarket had found its way into this branch – stools, artwork, furniture in general – had all made its way over. The whole place is non-smoking and there is no table charge either – both very welcome.

Baird Beer Station Numazu : Beer & Tap Information

If you’re coming to a Baird Beer bar and expecting something but Baird Beer, then you’re not going to like here. There are around 15 taps of craft beer here, and all of them are Baird Beer. With so many regular, seasonals, and limited beers on tap, there is something for everyone here. Alongside the regular taps, there are also two real ale pumps and a limited Numazu only beer that is a black IPA on hand pump – a rare sight indeed.

The prices are also the same as other bars, with 200ml / 250ml pours from ¥700, and 400 ml / 500 ml pours from ¥1,200. As with other branches, there is also a three beer flight that gets you three 150 ml pours from ¥1,200 yen. Unfortunately, there is no happy hour, nor any option for takeaway beers – a shame really with a long train journey back into Kanto, I would have liked some Baird Dark Sky Imperial Stout for the train.

Baird Beer Station Numazu : Food & Menu Information

Thought Baird Beer Station Numazu does have some small snacks on the menu, you are encouraged to bring some of your own food into the bar – and with plenty of local shops to choose from, you can help support the local market. In terms of menus, there’s enough English on them for you to order some beers and some of the snacks, with all of the prices inclusive of tax.
