Creative ArTwork BREWing : The Bottom Line
I really liked my time at Creative ArTwork BREWing and I would definitely come here again when I am remotely close to the bar. It’s got everything I like in a bar – good beers, good variety on tap, and good prices. Combined with some of the quirkiness of the place, more about that later, the vibe here is relaxed and well suited to coming along with friends for some cold beers. The only downside to it is that lack of chairs, as on the day I went, there was nowhere to sit down after a couple of pints. The whole place is non-smoking and has no table charge along with some free Wi-Fi for people to connect to.

Creative ArTwork BREWing : Background
Musashi Urawa is not known for its craft beer bar, mainly because before Creative ArTwork BREWing there was none. How the hell can this place get a craft beer bar before my own station in Yokohama can get one? Not fair. Anyway, Creative ArTwork BREWing, which style themselves online as C.AT. BREW, opened in May 2025 and is located less than five minutes walk from Musashi Urawa station.
The bar came about because the owner, Asaka Mitsuo, has been fascinated by craft beer for over 20 years, and has traveled around the country in search of hot springs and craft beer. After investing in a brewery he supported when it ran into financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he wanted to do something of his own, and opened a taproom and select shop that serves craft beer.
Creative ArTwork BREWing : Atmosphere & Interior
Creative ArTwork BREWing is quirky – let’s just get that out of the way first of all. There really hasn’t been a place that I’ve been to that compares to this place. It seems to be part gallery, with all of the paintings and illustrations on the wall; part homage to local holders of Guinness World Records – I won’t spoil that surprise for you – and part craft beer bar. It’s very peculiar but in a nice way. The vibe is very relaxed, and throughout the time here, a few people popped in that we knew and didn’t know were in the area (Hi Mark! and Hi Tim!)
It’s a standing bar only – well it seemed to be on the day we went – as there didn’t seem to be any chairs for people to use. Now that’s a good thing as that means there is no table charge; however, after necking some beers beforehand, it would have been a nice option to have had a seat. There was also some light music playing in the background that you’d probably have to strain to hear it. There is also some free Wi-Fi here, with the details printed on cards at the bar and also at the tables dotted around the room.

Creative ArTwork BREWing : Beer & Tap Information
Though Creative ArTwork BREWing has brewing in its name, there’s no actual brewery on site at the time of writing. Instead, they try to collaborate with breweries that they like and rotate the beers they have on tap with breweries that the owner likes. On the day we went, there were eight taps of beer on with Outsider Brewing on tap, and with some in-house made beers too. The beers come in two “peculiar” sizes : 300 ml from ¥880 and 420 ml from ¥1,210. There’s no beer flight option, but you can get some beers to takeaway.
Why are these sizes peculiar? Well the glasses are proper UK pint size so 568 ml for those using proper units. But there are no lines on the glasses to indicate the amount of beer. Instead, the beers are weighed to be the “correct” amount – a very strange system.
Creative ArTwork BREWing : Food & Menu Information
There isn’t any food but you can bring your own in at the time of writing. Just make sure you take the rubbish with you or put it somewhere in the bar.
