Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki : The Bottom Line
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki is on the pricey side for beers and as such, is hard to recommend to those who are looking for something average in price; however, there is a decent selection of beers on for a place so small, and the food is also very good. The small size of the bar lends itself well to a couple of quiet drinks in a warm environment and thankfully there is no table charge and no smoking. Just be warned – go with cash or Paypay as at the time of writing, no other forms of payment were accepted.
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki : The Full Review
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki was an accidental find on a random walk around the Kannai area as I was originally trying to find Del Beer. However, when I turned up to that place, it no longer existed and the place that now in its place only had macro craft beer on tap – nothing wrong with that if you like that, but I don’t so it was wrong for me. A quick search on Google Maps and Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki came up – so off I went, hoping that this wasn’t going to be a wild goose chase of an afternoon that was grey, cold, and wet.
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki is located about 2 minutes from Hinodecho Station, on the Keikyu Line towards Miura, and opened in November 2021. It’s on the second floor and the only way to notice Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki is the massive amount of cans that are piled up against the window.
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki : Atmosphere & Interior
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki is a small place, with space for exactly 10 people inside – not a person more either. I turned up and there was only one other person; however, I left when three other people had turned up and it already felt full up. The tables against the wall have space for two people but make sure you are close or friendly with the person you turn up with. Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki has no table charge and the whole place is non-smoking, with also some free WiFi.
In terms of music, there was some being played in the background, loud enough to be heard but not loud enough to drown out the conversations from the other customers. It was quite an eclectic mix of songs, though mostly entrenched in indie and rock music.
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki : Beer & Tap Information
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki has six taps of craft beer on with a strong leaning towards domestic craft beer. The beers came in three sizes: small (280 ml) from ¥900, medium (360 ml) from ¥1,150, and large (473 ml) from ¥1,240 with the prices including tax. Special beers come in a bit smaller at 200 ml, 280 ml, and 360 ml instead of the sizes listed previously. There isn’t a happy hour, nor any offer of beer flights. And in spite of the cans in the window, there is no cans available for drinking in store.
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki is not a cheap place to drink at but with the prices including tax and there being no table charge, it does make the blow a bit softer than usual. The beers were also well served, with a minimal amount of head for the beers unless you ask for it – so excuse the imperial stout picture above.
Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki : Food Information
The menu at Craft Beer Kitchen Cocoro no Tsuki is based around Chinese dishes, with the owner having worked in a Chinese restaurant before. It’s a variety of small and large dishes but on the day I went, I had the spring rolls and also the shumai, both of which were absolutely delicious and bloody hot. So hot that I burnt my mouth on both the shumai and the spring rolls – a word of warning! The menu was all in Japanese though and there wasn’t any offer of an English one, so you have been warned. In terms of vegetarian options, there were a couple of nibbles to choose from, but nothing substantial.
