Japan Brewers’ Cup 2018

The Japan Brewers Cup Festival is an annual event held at Ōsanbashi pier in Kannai, Yokohama. If that place sounds familiar, yes, Japan Brewers Cup Festival is held at the same place as the BeerFes Yokohama event. It is a three-day event; however, unlike the BeerFes Yokohama event, the Japan Brewers Cup Festival is a pay-as-you-go rather than a tasting session event.

Japan Brewers Cup Festival is organised by Shinya Suzuki, the man behind Bay Brewing Yokohama and is a dual event – an official beer competition in the morning, and then the drinking commences. Anyone can watch the beer judges on the Saturday and Sunday mornings; however, there is no judging on the Friday.

The event is open on Friday 26th January from 16:00 to 22:00, Saturday 27th from 11:00 to 21:00, and the final day Sunday 28th January from 11:00 to 19:00. Entry to Japan Brewers Cup Festival costs ¥500 for the whole event, while beers are dependent on the breweries themselves. At last year’s event, drinks ranged from ¥300 to ¥700.
