TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay : The Bottom Line
While the prices might be a touch on the high side considering you have Craft Beer iBrew Yokohama less than 10 minutes away, TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay is a welcome addition to the area on a train line which has so few craft beer bars. The outside drinking area is sure to be a hit in the sunnier weather – it convinced me to stay for another beer – and with plenty of beers on tap, there’s something for everyone to choose from. Though on the day I went, TDM 1874 Brewery hadn’t started brewing, I’ll definitely be back again to try out some of the beers, and hopefully some of the food.

TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay : Background
TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay is the fourth addition to the slowly growing chain of bars from TDM 1874, after their original location, Marché Dix Jour, and TDM 1874 Shimokitazawa. However, with this branch, the aim wasn’t just for another bar, but instead to increase their brewing capacity as demand, right fully so, has increased over the last few years and the original location is no longer large enough.
TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay opened in April 2025 in the Qlay area by Tennocho Business Park. It’s an area that has seen a lot of development over the last couple of years, with the complex stretching along from Hoshikawa station, on the Sotetsu Line, up to the Tennocho area. The area that TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay is located in is called the “E” zone and is less than two minutes walk from the station.
TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay : Atmosphere & Interior
As you approach TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay, you’re greeted by a lots of open space – more about that later – and large windows to the bar, and also the brewery. Just don’t go tapping on the window, else you might scare the brewer – they’re a jittery bunch those brewers.
Inside, the place feels very light and airy, thanks for the large windows, with space for around 15 people sitting down at various tables and bar counter combinations, along with some standing room too. There is no table charge and the whole place is non-smoking – which also includes the outside area. When the weather is suitable, there is space for another 6 people at some various tables and benches. There is also a large standing counter area alongside the Katabira river, where you can lean, and drink, and just watch the sun go down. It really is a nice outside area, though it could do with some greenery, just to break up the concrete parts.

TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay : Beer & Tap Information
On the day I went to TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay, they hadn’t started brewing with operations due to start in late May 2025 so an excuse to go back. There were eight taps of beer one, with one of those being a macro in the form of Asahi Super Dry, so you can bring your non-craft beer drinking friends along with you. The beers come in two sizes : half pint (240 ml) from ¥740 and US pint (473 ml) from ¥1230. There wasn’t any happy hour offers, nor any beer flights to choose from.
While there weren’t any cans available to take away, after speaking with the manager, there are plans to have some offerings for customers to drink either on-site, in lieu of a corkage fee, or to takeaway. With TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay being so close to the station, it’s a tempting offer in the future.
TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay : Food & Menu Information
On the day I went to TDM 1874 Hoshiten Qlay, there wasn’t any food on offer, besides some small nibbles of ham from a third party but I’ll be going back to try the food. The menus are in English for the drinks, so there’s no problem in ordering some of the beers or food.
