Vacan Craft X is a 7% double IPA from Utsui Brewery, based in Shimonoseki, in Yamaguchi. It’s part of their regular lineup and is available in both bottles and on draught. Vacan Craft X is only available to purchse in Shimonoseki, or the Utsui Brewery online store, and uses El Dorado and Luminosa hops.

Vacan Craft X : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Do not adjust your mobile device or whatever device you are using to see this write up – the beer did look as turgid brown as the picture shows. No editing has been done to this image and belive me, compared to the official photo, I can only say something seriously bad has happened during the bottling stage.
And it was evident from the first sniff of this beer, that something very, very bad had happened as this beer smelt off. Oxidised and muddy, with a deep phenolic nose, Vacan Craft X really is a terrible example of not just a double IPA but a beer in itself. Considering this beer is twice the price of Yo-Ho Aooni IPA, there is no excuse for it.
I didn’t want to drink this from the apperance alone, and the aroma did even more of a worse job. Yet I soldiered on as I had bought this beer, but it was apparent from the first sip that this is not a beer fit for consumption. There is nothing positive to say about it at all.
