Onuma Kölsch : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Onuma Kölsch poured out a slightly hazy faded straw colour with a thick white head on top that faded to a few bubbles on top.
The beer had a clean aroma of noble hops, and a slight sweet pilsner malt aroma, with both of them lingering on as the beer warmed up. It was straight forward for a Kölsch and hit all the right spots.
In terms of flavour, it began with a slight bitterness which segued into a noble hop flavour with some light floral notes when the beer had warmed up. The beer had a clean taste throughout drinking, with a crisp body that lent itself perfectly to some outside drinking and warmer weather – not the middle of a Japanese winter.
Onuma Kölsch : The Bottom Line
It’s a decent attempt at a Kölsch and I’d be happy to have it again.
