Tall Boys Traveling Carny : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a slightly hazy golden honey colour with a thick white head, consisting of large bubbles that left a few rings around the edge of the glass.
The aroma was of a biscuity malt sweetness, before a noble earthy and herbal aroma came through, which developed more as the beer warmed up. There wasn’t any discerinble off aromas to the beer, and the aroma was consistent throughout drinking.
There was a slight bitterness in the intial drinking of the beer, but the malt sweetness quickly took over proceedings. The hops did bring a touch of earthiness to the beer, but it was the malts that dominated throughout. A crisp bit finished off each sip, or even gulp, though at 6%, this isn’t a session beer, no matter what Tall Boys Brewing put on their site.
Tall Boys Traveling Carny : The Bottom Line
A solid, if not exciting, beer for a couple of drinks.
