Dam Brewery Restaurant : The Bottom Line
Dam Brewery Restaurant is a good place to pick up locally made beers – both from Dam Brewery but also from across Japan. As you might expect from a bar being in such an upmarket location though, the prices are at the higher end of the scale, but all the prices include tax and there is no table charge either. The whole place is non-smoking and also has free wifi.
Dam Brewery Restaurant : Background
Dam Brewery Restaurant, also known as Basement 2, is located in the B2 floor of the Toranomon Hills station tower, with the tower having been completed in October 2023 and bars and shops opening up soon after. The T Market area in which Basement 2 is located in, encompases a variety of places to eat and drink, and with Basement 2, it also hosts its own brewery under the Dam Brewery brand.
Seeing as the bar and brewery is located in Toranomon Hills, the closest station to getting here is Toranomon Hills on the Hibiya and Ginza lines.
Dam Brewery Restaurant : Atmosphere & Interior
As you enter T Market, you’re approached by a plethora of shops, that at first appear to be a yokocho, where you can eat and drink anywhere, but in fact they are all separate shops. Dam Brewery Restaurant is at the back and is also the largest space here, with seating for over 80 people at various table and bar counter locations. The whole place is non-smoking and has free wifi.
There was some light background music that was loud enough to be heard, but not loud enough to be distracting. The main site inside Dam Brewery Restaurant was the open brewery, with all of its stainless steel goodness on show, alongside a huge rack of numbered kegs for the beer.
Dam Brewery Restaurant : Beer & Tap Information
Dam Brewery Restaurant has 10 taps of beer on, with at the time of writing, three set aside for in-house brews from Dam Brewery, and the rest being available for guest beers, and also a tap of macro lager for those wanting to bring their non-craft beer drinking friends.
The beers come in two sizes : regular (280 ml) at ¥980 and then large (420 ml) at ¥1,400, putting Dam Brewery Restaurant up there at being some of the costliest for beers in Tokyo. If there’s a positive to be had, then it’s that the beers are served to the brim with minimal head, and all the prices come with tax included. I didn’t notice any happy hour offerings – which seems strange seeing as the building Dam Brewery Restaurant is located in has a large amount of offices – nor is there a beer flight option.
Dam Brewery Restaurant : Food & Menu Information
I didn’t get much food to eat besides the jerk chicken wings which were fantastic. Outside of that meaty deliciousness, Dam Brewery Restaurant has hired a 3 starred Michelin chef to choose the direction of the food, and you can find plenty of your usual bar foods in the form of chips and fried food, but also pastas and pizzas. There’s an eclectic mix of food on the menu, which are both in English and in Japanese, with plenty of choices for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
