Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu : The Bottom Line
If you’re a fan of Ise Kadoya, then you’ll like Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu but if you’re like me, then like the Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Shimbashi branch, the prices of the beer may put you off. However, unlike that branch, this one had a much better atmosphere and seemed to be a lot friendly too, with the staff on the day being pretty funny and cracking a few jokes, almost as if we were regulars there. So for that reason, I’d probably go back here again if I am in the area, but I doubt I’ll be rushing to get here.
Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu : Background
Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu was Ise Kadoya’s first foray into a taproom in Tokyo, but like the other branches, it isn’t actually owned by them, but rather a holdings company that uses their beers. This branch opened in August 2018 and since then, has been rather busy and a popular haunt in the area of the Yaesu district of Tokyo. While Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu is advertised as being in the Yaesu area, it’s also right near Nihombashi station, so you could easily get to the bar from that station as well.
Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu : Atmosphere & Interior
As you descend down from the steps that take you into Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu and its foyer, you’re greeted by an unusual looking front for a craft beer bar. The purple sashes that adorn the entrance help it stand out from the modern looking facades around you, but as you step inside, you’re met by two very different looking fronts to Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu – one with a traditional approach with a bar counter and wooden plaques above said counter, but also some more European looking tables and cables that are to the sides.
There’s space for around 40 people inside at the previously mentioned inside parts, but then there are some outside seats as well – which are peculiarly designed. The seats themselves are comfy – you could easily sit here for a few hours and drink away, but the tables are too high for the seats. It really did seem like we were kids sitting at the adults table for dinner and couldn’t quite reach up. In spite of that, Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu is completely non-smoking and has no table charge either – something that does offset against the beer prices.
Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu : Beer & Tap Information
Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu prides itself on the beers they have from Ise Kadoya, and for good reason. When they’re good, they have some fantastic beers on show. The bar has 13 taps on, with both year-round offerings, seasonals, and also some special limited beers. Like the Shimbashi branch, the beers come in two sizes: half (240 ml) from ¥880 and US point (480 ml) from ¥1,320. There’s no happy hour or any beer flights on the menu – a shame really when there’s so much to choose from. Unlike the Shimbashi branch though, the pours were much better.
Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu : Food & Menu Information
I wasn’t hungry when I went to Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu because I had eaten at the previous place so all I could manage was some chips. Ise Kadoya Craft Beer Yaesu specialises in Japanese cooking, with lots of small dishes on the menu, such as satsuma-age, pickles, aubergine, and my favourite, kinpira. On top of this, with the Mie area being well-known for its oysters, they’re also on the menu too. However, with the menus being in Japanese only, and none of the staff speaking English, the lack of pictures could dissuade people from ordering but you’re missing out on some great food. There is some vegetarian dishes on the menu though and all prices include tax.
