Uchu Crab Nebula : Background

Uchu Crab Nebula is a 9.5% triple IPA from Uchu Brewing. It’s part of their canned and draught lineup, thought at the time of writing it’s a randomly produced beer, with it having first come on sale in 2022. The beer is made with a blend of New Zealand and USA hops with Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka, Motueka, and Amarillo being the ones used. Moreover, it has been double dry hopped so the hops have been ramped up.

Uchu Crab Nebula : Appearance

Hazy golden straw colour with a frothy white head that dissipates to a thin ring around the edge of the glass. Leaves some streaks down the glass that remained until the end.

Uchu Crab Nebula : Aroma

Very fruit – melon and kiwi, pineapple and lemon, grapefruit and peach. Very little malt aroma coming through as all hops. No alcohol heat or off-flvaours noted.

Uchu Crab Nebula : Taste

Smooth with an underlying sweetness. Full on fruity with the same fruits in the nose being present in the body. Well rounded and drinkable though a touch of booziness when it has warmed up.

Uchu Crab Nebula : The Bottom Line

I’ve not had an Uchu Brewing beer in a while due to their unrealibility but this was a pretty tasty and I’d love another. The only problem is that its 9.5% so one is enough for me.
