Bamboo 4 : The Bottom Line
Bamboo 4 is a nice little addition to the area and I will be going for sure – when they are serving some meat tacos and not some tuna tacos. There was a decent selection of beers on tap, with prices being quite reasonable too. Besides that small point, it’s a nice little space in what was Sakura Taps who moved space at the end of December 2024. The whole place is non-smoking, has some free wifi, and no table charage.

Bamboo 4 : Background
As mentioned above, the space that Bamboo 4 occupies used to be Sakura Taps – one of my favourite bars in the area due to the friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. So when I heard that it was being taken over by a craft beer bar with Mexican food, I was delighted – I love them both! Bamboo 4 opened in December 2024 and is located about five-minutes south of JR Sakuragicho station in the Noge district that lies somewhere between Sakuragicho and Hinodecho station on the Keikyu line.
Bamboo 4 : Atmosphere & Interior
The bar hasn’t changed too much from what was left of Sakura Taps – and that’s a good thing. Inside is still welcoming and cosy, though on the day I went, it was quiet. However, the owner was chatty, in a good way, and we had a good talk about the previous bar I had been to and also the surrounding area and its craft beer options.
Inside, there is space for a group of four at the back, or two groups of two, the counter seating had been retained, though there was also the addition of partitioned table now. This table had been taped down into thirds, so either you’re going to be using it with other drinkers, or some friends. The whole place is no smoking and has no table charge.

Bamboo 4 : Beer & Tap Information
There were eight taps of craft beer on when I went to Bamboo 4, with a decent variety of beers on tap. They usually advertise what beers are on with their Instagram account on daily basis. The beers come in three sizes : small (150 ml) from ¥560, medium (250 ml) from ¥790 and large (470 ml) from ¥1,150, with all the prices including tax. There wasn’t an option for a beer flight nor any happy hour offer.

Bamboo 4 : Food & Menu Information
So the one day I choose to go to Bamboo 4 for some tacos is the same day they have katsuo (skipjack tuna) on the menu – the one fish that I detest and can’t eat. However, with the food being Mexican themed, there were other options on the menu. Moreover, Bamboo 4 is very much vegan friendly with plenty of options listed on the menu for people to choose from. I had the nachos and guacamole as shown above, and while it wasn’t cheap, the amount of guacamole I got was more than enough for the portion above. There wasn’t an option for an English menu so you may need someone who reads / speaks Japanese to order the food, though the drink menu had enough to order from.
