Unshu Mikan IPA takes its name from the beer being made with 75% unshu mandarin juice. and hobo! roughly translating to “almost” – so is this really a beer then? Rokko Hobo! Unshu Mikan IPA : Appearance
Poured out an oxidised orange colour – nowhere near as orangey as I thought it would be. Frothy off-white bubbles on top that faded to a thin layer on top before fading away.
Rokko Hobo! Unshu Mikan IPA : Aroma
Strong orange juice aroma with a muted hop bouquet citrus aroma. Slight malt notes in the background with a touch of phenol from the yeast.
Rokko Hobo! Unshu Mikan IPA : Taste
Peculiar – tasted like oxidised and musty orange juice. It was smooth with some hints of potential but either this was an old can or it was oxidised.

I’m mixed about this “beer” – it’s not tasting like orange juice, but nor is it tasting like a beer. Kind of like a musty cardboard inspired orange juice
