Y Market Hop Bazooka is a 4.5% Session IPA from Y Market Brewing, based in Nagoya, in Aichi, Japan. It’s part of their regular lineup and can be found in both cans and on tap. Like other Y Market Brewing beers, Y Market Hop Bazooka is brewed using imported US hops with Simcoe, Mosaic, Citra, Amarillo, and Centennial.

Y Markey Hop Bazooka・ワイマケットホップバズーカY Market Hop Bazooka Aroma and Taste

Y Market Hop Bazooka poured out a light straw colour with a plump white head on top that slowly dissipated to a thin ring of bubbles on top. The aroma was all hops with a mixed tropical and dank nose coming through. Once Y Market Hop Bazooka had warmed up, the usual citrus notes were also present. There was not a single bit of definite malt character to it either – perhaps a very small smidgen of light pilsner but even then, it was only fleeting.

The body had an initial bitter hit to it that faded to a smooth dry taste but then the hops come screaming in to make sure your mouth isn’t left wanting. Grapefruit, lemon, dank pine notes all came through with some mango and pineapple too. There was so much fruitiness going on in Y Market Hop Bazooka that your doctor would probably say you’ve hit your 5 portions of fruit and veg for the day. The citrus and fruity tang lingered on into the aftertaste and left a cleanness to the palate.

Y Market Hop Bazooka The Bottom Line

Y Market Hop Bazooka is all about the hops and unashamedly so.
