I had heard rumours about a bottle shop in Jiyugaoka where it was possible to pick up some domestic, as well as imported, craft beer and while trying to find Alpha Beta Coffee club, I ran across Aeon Liquors Jiyugaoka. Finally!
Located a few minutes from Tokyu Jiyugaoka station, Aeon Liquors is an off-shoot of the supermarket of the same name, but if you hadn’t had guessed from the name, they only stock liquor – be it whisky, wine, or beer. They have quite a large selection of beers from Japan, with most of the major craft beer producers such as Baird Beer, Shiga Kogen, Sankt Gallen, Minoh Beer, and Coedo Brewery among others.
Beers can be drink either in-store or out on the wood terrace for an extra ¥100 if you can’t wait to get them home – not a bad deal considering other places charge much more.
