Minoh Beer Information

Background

Minoh Beer (also known as Minoh Brewery or 箕面ビール) is a highly respected craft brewery located in Minoh City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan. It is one of the pioneers of the Japanese craft beer movement and is known for its award-winning beers and strong commitment to quality brewing.

Opened in 1997, Minoh Beer started out when the late Oshita-san, originally a liquor shop owner eager to diversify Japan’s beer landscape as laws relaxed in 1994, bought a brewery for two of daughters, Kaori and Mayuko, and later their younger sister joined in. Minoh Beer first made news when the W-IPA was advertised in a Japanese newspaper; however, Minoh Beer were known among Japanese craft beer fans before then.

Their motto is rooted in brewing beer they themselves enjoy drinking. The brewery values craftsmanship, consistency, and a connection with the local community. Minoh Beer has won numerous awards both domestically and internationally, including at the World Beer Awards and International Beer Cup.
