WCB The Room : The Bottom Line
WCB The Room is a great choice if you’re looking for something craft beer enthusiasts and those looking for beers from West Coast Brewing and those wanting a lively bar. However, if you’re looking for a place for a quiet beer or two, then this isn’t the place for you. There are a decent number of taps available, so you’ll likely find one or two beers that you want to drink along with some delicious food. A word of warning; WCB The Room is cashless so make sure you’ve got a card or some form of E-money. Finally, the whole bar is non-smoking, has no table charge, and there are some cans to takeaway too.

WCB The Room : Background
Finally, the Kanto area gets some love from West Coast Brewing, with them finally opening up a taproom in Tokyo, long after Shizuoka and Osaka get a few. You would have thought that this would have happened a lot earlier considering the size of the craft beer market in Kanto, but it was only in August 2025 that craft beer drinkers were blessed with a branch from one of Japan’s most popular craft beer breweries.
Located in the Toranomon area of Tokyo, WCB The Room is located in the Toranomon Arthea Tower, one of five (I think) towers in the area. It’s located between Toranomon Hills and Toranomon station, with it being around a 10 minute walk from both stations.
WCB The Room : Atmosphere & Interior
WCB The Room is a confusing little place – after having visited West Coast 12 – Twelve and a few other branches from the brewery, stepping into this place felt weird. It didn’t really feel your usual craft beer bar, in fact, it felt more like a club than a place to have a quiet couple of pints. It’s good that craft beer bars do have their own style and aren’t becoming copy-paste designs across a chain, but with music blaring out at barely 6 pm, and trying to have a conversation with someone less than 50 cm away from me isn’t my idea of a chilled place to hang out.
Wow, I am getting old.
As for the essentials, there’s space for around 30 people inside WCB The Room, with a big table in the middle for around eight people, and another eight seats or so at the counter, and then seating along the window for around 10 people or so. There’s also a small terrace area outside though it wasn’t being used on the day we went. There’s no table charge at the bar, and there’s some free WiFi too.

WCB The Room : Beer & Tap Information
With this being the taprooom for West Coast Brewing, all 20 or so taps on here are all of their beers. The beers come in a few different sizes, which all depend on the alcohol percentage of the beer : small (150 ml) from ¥1,200, glass (~250 ml) from ¥1,240, and then pint (470 ml) from ¥1,730 – not the cheapest place to come and drink, and let’s be honest, you can find these beers cheaper in Tokyo – which seems weird for a taproom in my opinion. However, these probably are the freshest you can find them.
There is also a three beer flight option that gets you three 150 ml beers for ¥2,100 though there are some caveats in that not all 20 taps are available in that beer flight with some of them being 75 ml pours instead – barely even a gulp in my case. Finally, there is a fridge of canned beers that you can buy to takeaway or drink in store though the latter incurs a corkage fee of ¥300 per can or bottle. Unforutnately, there are no happy hour options available or any drink as much as you want plans – probably a good idea for the latter.

WCB The Room : Food & Menu Information
There’s a wide range of food on at WCB The Room, with Tex-Mex being the basis for the menus. There are both some small dishes, such as the delicious chicken tenders above, and larger meals such as hamburgers and quesadillas. There are plenty of choices on the menu for vegetarians whilte the menus have enough English on them to order, while all of the prices include tax as well.
