Yellow Beer God Save the Yellow : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Yellow Beer God Save the Yellow poured out a murky dull honey colour with barely any head on top. What head there was didn’t even seem to register and left a few bubbles around the edge of the glass.
Thankfully, the aroma was better as it started off with with a rich orange and pineapple aroma which was then followed up with some light citrus notes. There was a touch of astringency to the nose, with it resembling something like a tart orange aroma – though it wasn’t unpleasent. As the beer warmed up, the sweetness cut through the hoppiness of the beer, though it did seem to be a little vegetal – had this beer been overhopped or was it deliberate? It was tough to really know as I’m not a fan of a vegetal note in beer.
The body began with a hit of bitterness, though it wasn’t harsh on the palate. The orange and pineapple notes were the main ones to come through during drinking, with a lingering flavour throughout it all. Yellow Beer God Save the Yellow once again had a vegetal note to the body, which was more of a grassy flavour throughout drinking yet it was saved by a sweetness that permeated throughout it all.
Yellow Beer God Save the Yellow : The Bottom Line
This isn’t a bad beer but it’s not a beer that I am rushing out to buy again.
