Mangosteen Arise the Golden Hour : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Mangosteen Arise the Golden Hour poured out a dull orange marmelade colour with a thin later of white head on top, that left a few bubbles around the edge of the glass during drinking.
Though this beer is supposedly “juicy”, I wouldn’t have put that on the can label in all honesty. Smelling this beer didn’t give me that same of fruit juice aroma that often comes with hazy IPAs. This beer had a muted aroma of some pineapple, along with a nose of peachy phenols that were present during drinking. There was a touch of light malt sweetness going on, with it becoming slightly bolder as the beer warmed up.
The body also didn’t scream “juice” either. While there was a touch of hoppiness in the front, with a slight lingering bitterness throughout drinking, the pineapple flavour was once again muted. However, there was a light note of spiciness in the body of Mangosteen Arise the Golden Hour – was it from the hops or the yeast? Alongside it though was a peach phenolic flavour tying this altogether, it didn’t really develop much more from that.
Mangosteen Arise the Golden Hour : The Bottom Line
A mid Belgian IPA – needs a lot of work on it really.
