Be Easy Noresore is an 8% hazy double IPA From Be Easy Brewing, based in Hirosaki, in Aomori, Japan. It’s part of their canned and draught lineup, and has been released a number of times, with this batch seeing an increase in its alcohol content from the original 6.5%. Be Easy Noresore is brewed using Citra, Mosaic, Simcoe, and Strata hops, along with some oats and a NE-IPA yeast strain. The word noresore (のれそれ) roughly translates to being “over familiar with a certain person” – perhaps a hint in the change in recipe or the effect that drinking an 8% will do to people.

Be Easy Noresore : Aroma & Taste

It’s been a while since I had some beers from Be Easy Brewing – not that I haven’t wanted to but with so much out on the market right now, and with so many good fresh beers, it’s often hard not to face the paradox of choice and go for something new. However, I was intrigued with Be Easy Noresore not because it’s a new beer but because Be Easy have taken a beer and revamped its recipe into something bolder and stronger.

Be Easy Noresore poured out a hazy light straw colour with a thin amount of white head that did leave some lacing down the glass but not much. The aroma though was big and bold with lots of citrus fruits being noted – grapefruit, lemon, lime, and orange – that gave way to a tropical bouquet of mango and pineapple. Holding this all together was a light sweetness from the malt that had just the lightest of touches from the alcohol that was noted but not overpowering or abrasive.

The body to Be Easy Noresore began with a smooth, yet bold, bitterness which then opened up to a citrus body that was the same as the nose. As the beer warmed up, the tropical fruits found in the nose reappeared in the body, given Be Easy Noresore a mixed fruit juice quality, that when combined with the light sweetness and medium body, was a pleasure to drink. The alcohol heat came through lightly the more Be Easy Noresore warmed up, but like in the nose, it wasn’t overpowering nor abrasive.
