Barbaric Vamos! : Aroma & Taste

Barbaric Vamos! poured out a hazy light yellow colour with a minimal amount of white head on top that faded to a few bubbles around the side. The aroma from the beer was all citrus from the hops with grapefruit, lemon, and lime being the main aromas of note. In terms of malt aroma, there was just a touch of light sweetness to Barbaric Vamos! but nothing that really detracted from the hops.

The body was more of the same, but with just a touch of bitterness to Barbaric Vamos!. The grapefruit, lemon, and lime flavour from the hops lingered on throughout drinking, with a meagre malt sweetness just trying once in a while to come though the hops. Barbaric Vamos! finished off with more of the same citrus notes, not with a crescendo but more of a limp fade out. The beer was crisp and bitter though throughout, so there were some positives about Barbaric Vamos!

Barbaric Vamos! : The Bottom Line

Barbaric Vamos! is a simple beer – citrus and crisp. If you like that, then it’s the right beer for you.
