Rokko Hazy Session IPA : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

Rokko Hazy Session IPA poured out a dull hazy orange colour with a thin later of white bubbles on top that popped away to leave just a few white bubbles here and there.

As much as I’ve pissed on Rokko Beer in the past – and usually for good reason – Rokko Hazy Session IPA had a very good aroma, with it actually managing not to have any off aromas. There was lots of fruitiness present in the nose with grapefruit, lemon, orange, and pineapple all being present. This was supported by a smooth candy sweetness from the malts, that grew stronger as the beer warmed up, but did not become cloying.

Drinking Rokko Hazy Session IPA was also a surprising, and pleasant, experience – definitely not something I thought I would write about with Rokko Beer. Rokko Hazy Session IPA had a similar profile to the aroma, with the mix of citrus and tropical fruits being present during drinking, and a smooth bitterness that lingered throughout drinking, with the sweetness from the malts taking some of the edge off.

Rokko Hazy Session IPA : The Bottom Line

Surprise surprise – a well made beer from Rokko Beer.
