Groundtap Yuha : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

Groundtap Yuha poured out no more orange than your regular American IPA, though the head didn’t last as long as I thought it would. However, it did leave some bubbles down the side of the glass during drinking.

The aroma wasn’t as orangey as I thought it was going to be either. If you’re going to advertise a beer as an “orange IPA” I want to be Tango’d by the orange hit. I was left lacking by the aroma until the beer had warmed up, but by that point, I was never going to be satisfied with it all. The orange aroma was rather mellow and didn’t really develop beyond a faint flourish of nose.

At least drinking the beer was a better experience as it began with a decent bitter and hoppy start that helped to accentuate the orange flavour more than expected. With a touch of sweetness from the malts, it was a solid drinking beer, but in all honesty, the lack of decent aroma from the beer left me wanting something fruitier and punchier overall.

Groundtap Yuha : The Bottom Line

A solid, yet disappointing beer. Needs more orange notes and flavour throughout really.
