Hiroshima Neighborly Hinode Lager : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a slightly hazy amber golden colour with a plump white head on top that stuck around during drinking, leaving some thick rings around the edge of the glass.
Hiroshima Neighborly Hinode Lager had your typical malty aroma with a touch of caramel sweetness present, while also a woodiness present, with that latter being explained by the wood chips. It wasn’t an overpowering aroma though as soon after, there was a floral aroma from the hops that came through fast.
Finally, the body was clean from start to finish, with a light dryness too that stuck throughout drinking. The hops were floral with a slight citrus note to the body, but it was the woodiness that got me. While it was deliberate, I couldn’t help but notice the vegetal nature of it. It wasn’t a bad thing – just peculiar.
Hiroshima Neighborly Hinode Lager : The Bottom Line
A decent made lager with an interesting twist to it.
