Craft Beer Base CPA : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a dark golden honey colour with a plump and frothy white head on top, that left some thick rings of white head around the edge of the glass.
In terms of aroma, Craft Beer Base CPA began with a light dank, resinous nose before segueing into something a bit more citrusy and vibrant. There was a big nose of grapefruit and lemon, with some light caramel malt notes just lying in wait in the background. The aroma was pretty straightforwarded and reminded of when Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was the measuring stick for all American pale ales.
Finally, the body began with a smooth, yet lingering, bitterness that didn’t really let up during drinking, but nor did it overpower the profile of the beer. Craft Beer Base CPA had a touch of resinous dank notes in the beer, before passing onto some citrus notes of grapefruit and lemon throughout drinking. The body didn’t deviate from this profile at all, and there were no discerinble off flavours noted.
Craft Beer Base CPA : The Bottom Line
A solid American pale ale, perfect for a small session on the beers.
