Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA : Background
Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA is a 6.5% cold IPA from Nomcraft Brewing, based in Aridagawa, in Wakayama. It’s part of their canned and draught linup, and is also a collaborative effort, with this having brewed in conjunction with Hino Brewing and Open Air Brewing. Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA is part of their annual series, though the style does change so this is a one-off beer. Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA is brewed using Amarillo, Cascade, Motueka, and Simcoe hops though with the addition of Polish Izabella hops – a new one for us at BeerTengoku. This is actual the second time of me having this beer as I had the pint version of it at Btaps Toranomon.

Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA : Appearance
Golden straw colour with a thin white head on top that faded to a few bubbles around the edge of the glass, and left some slight streaks down the edge.
Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA : Aroma
A real mixture of aromas going on here but all pleasant. Starts off with a large citrus bouquet – lemon and orange along with some grapefuit that were all clean, though there was a nice dank resinous underbelly to the beer that supported, and helped elevate the citrus notes. The malts were light, but pilsner like, and there was a dryness to it all.
Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA : Taste
Smooth rounded bitterness to the beer, with a large citrus and pine balance from start to finish. The citrus flavours were the same as in the nose, with the piney nature of the beer supporting it throughout. The body to Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA was a touch on the dry side, with just a smidgen of sweetness lingering, before finishing off with a citrus flourish.
Nomcraft Triskelion CIPA : The Bottom Line
I really enjoyed the draught and canned version of this beer – shame it’s a one-off.
