Shiga Kogen Harvest Summer Saison Aroma and Taste
Shiga Kogen Harvest Summer Saison poured a deep golden colour without much head on top, though what there was light and frothy. On top of this, the body was clear without any particulates floating around – something that can happen with saisons due to the proteins found in the pale malt used in the brewing process. There was a clean yeast smell that emanated throughout drinking along with a subtle spicy edge that reminded me of pepper.
The first sip of Shiga Kogen Harvest Summer Saison went down well with a crisp tanginess to the body from the spicy pepperiness but the sweetness was a bit too strong for my liking. Not that is was unpleasant but it was more detectable as the beer warmed up as the crisp tanginess went down. Shiga Kogen Harvest Summer Saison also had hints of lemon in the mix too but ultimately the sweetness became too much and overpowered all the other tastes in the aftertaste.
Shiga Kogen Harvest Summer Saison One Line Review
Shiga Kogen Harvest Summer Saison started well but as it warmed up and became sweeter, it turned to cloying and one bottle was enough. Simply not refreshing enough.
