Two Dogs Taproom : The Bottom Line
It’s not often that we completely rewrite a review about a place, but Two Dogs Taproom has changed a lot since our first of many visits to the place. It’s now become non-smoking, which makes the place so much nicer, and is much lighter with the curtains open. The solid range of beers still remains and there is plenty to choose from on the menu if you’re vegetarian. It’s definitely worthy of your time when you’re in the area for some reasonably priced beers. There is also some free wifi for usage and the place is English friendly. Finally, there is no table charge.

Two Dogs Taproom : Background
Who remembers Gas Panic in Roppongi? Not the new one, the old one that changed into Two Dogs Taproom in November 2013? Well it’s changed for the better it seems. Two Dogs Taproom took over the old building, did some renovation and decoration, and has been one of the major bars in the area for craft beer since. It’s strange how Roppongi has so few craft beer bars considering the area, and as a result, Two Dogs Taproom is often packed throughout the evening.
The bar itself is located less than a five minute walk from Roppongi station, on the Hibiya line, with the Roppongi Crossing exit being the closest to the bar.
Two Dogs Taproom : Atmosphere & Interior
The bar is located just off the main road of at Roppongi 5-chome and has two floors – the main floor is where the bar is with seating for about 12 people at the bar, and tables dotted around the bar. The third floor is the main part room that can be booked out and also where the kitchen is. It’s a nice light and breezy place with a chilled out atmosphere.
There is no table charge for either sitting at the bar or elsewhere – a welcome addition to drinking – and the whole place is non-smoking. The only downside to the place in terms of atmosphere is that while the music is brilliant – some 80s hair rock and the such – it is rather loud and can drown out the conversation you’re having.

Two Dogs Taproom : Beer & Tap Information
There are 24 taps at Two Dogs Taproom. At the time of writing, the split between domestic craft beer and imported is 50/50. Beers come in three sizes: small (200 ml) from ¥850 , medium (360 ml) from ¥100, and US pint (473 ml) from ¥1,120. There is also a beer flight option of four small beers from Shimoda Beer, the in-house brewery for Two Dogs Taproom. for ¥2,500. It’s a shame that the happy hour has been removed, or it wasn’t being advertised on the last visit I went there. Moreover the beer flight option has also been reduced to just those four beers.
I had three of the in-house beers and found them to be pretty good representations of the style. That’s not a surprise considering that Devilcraft helped set up and organise some of the brews down in Shimoda. My favourite of the bunch was the Shimoda Riptide – a decent classic West Coast IPA that ticked all the right boxes.

Two Dogs Taproom : Food & Menu Information
There is plenty to eat at Two Dogs Taproom, such as our favourite food – chips, among other small snacks. However, if you’re feeling hungry like I was, then go for the pizza. Two Dogs Taproom take pride in their wood-fired pizza oven that can cook thin style pizzas in 190 seconds. The medium is 28cm while the large is 40cm – though the medium was enough for me. The menus are all in English and the prices include tax as well.

Good review. Very accurate.
I have to say though, with the high ceilings and massive air cleaning system, I never smell smoke.
So mentioning smoking 8 times might be a bit of an exaggeration (see what I did there?).
But Kudos for the Craft Beer bars of Tokyo.
