Gogoshima Setouchi Breezin : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
The beer poured out a light golden straw colour with a thin white head on top, though it didn’t last long as it collapsed into a thin layer of bubbles on top.
The aroma to Gogoshima Setouchi Breezin began with a thick, resinous pine note on the nose, before it moved onto an aroma of citrus fruits along the lines of lemons and oranges, as well as a touch of stone fruit, in the form of peaches, as the beer warmed up. There was a slight sweetness in the back end of the beer, but not enough to takeaway from this being a hop-forward beer.
The body was light and crisp, with a smooth bitterness from start to finish, that was balanced out with the resinous and fruity notes soon after. The lingering hoppy flavours of pine, lemon, and some peach in the end were balanced out nicely, though I would have liked some more body to this beer. In the end, there was a touch of sweetness to finish off Gogoshima Setouchi Breezin but not enough to takeaway from the hops.
Gogoshima Setouchi Breezin : The Bottom Line
A solid cold IPA that could do with a little more body though.
