Forest Brewing Sunlight Pale Ale : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Forest Brewing Sunlight Pale Ale poured out an amber orange colour with a thin layer of white bubbles on top that popped away, to leave some just hanging around the top of the beer. There was a lot of haze in the beer – and that didn’t clear up during drinking – not a good sign.
I must admit, after I saw the colour and the haze in the beer, I wasn’t holding out for much with this beer. And I was right too. While it’s not the worst example of an American pale ale that I’ve had, it wasn’t good. It wasn’t even above average. There was a subtle, yet noticeable, butter note on the nose, which indicates some issue with either an infection or the yeast being under stress. The only saving grace in the aroma was that as Forest Brewing Sunlight Pale Ale, there was a light citrus note of lemon present.
The body carried on with where the aroma left off – it really was a poor effort at an American pale ale. Outside of the slight note of lemon in the flavour, there was nothing really left worth writing about with this beer. The buttery note was present in the body and only grew stronger as the beer warmed.
Forest Brewing Sunlight Pale Ale : The Bottom Line
A complete fail with Forest Brewing Sunlight Pale Ale – give it a wide berth.
