Sakamichi North : The Bottom Line
There’s not too many places to drink craft beer in Tachikawa, but you’ve got two great choices now with Sakamichi Brewing and this Sakamichi North branch as well. While both branches have a small assortment of snacks on, you can bring in your own food. Paired with some cheap beers, and a good variety of styles on tap, there’s something for everyone here. The whole place is non-smoking, has free Wifi, and also plenty of room to stretch those legs.

Sakamichi North : Background
Sakamichi North is the second branch from Sakamichi Brewing, and it opened in December 2024. We’ve been to the original branch a few times now, and seen how busy it gets at the weekend. That’s not a surprise considering how few craft beer bars there are in the Tachikawa area. Sakamichi Brewing used a crowd funding model to help support the opening of this branch, and did a pre-event opening in the last weekend of December, with normal opening from December 30th.
As the name suggests, Sakamichi North is located on the north side of Tachikawa station, and is less than five minute walk from Tachikawa Station and also Tachikawa Kita station.
Sakamichi North : Atmosphere & Interior
As you walk into Sakamichi North, you enter into a large standing area for drinking, reminiscent of the original location. There’s lots of light coloured wood around – on the floor, used for tables, used for panelling around the bar, and at the back of the bar. Yet the ceiling is open, with all the cables and air-conditioning units open for show. It’s a light and airy space wherever you sit.
Inside, there is standing space for around 40 people, though for people with tired legs, there are some seats at the back of the bar. The whole space is non-smoking and also has no table charge. There was also some free wifi, but perhaps the downside is that there is no outside drinking. That could be due to a road immediately outside or it may be down to it being winter when we went.

Sakamichi North : Beer & Tap Information
There are nine taps of craft beer on at the bar, with all taps being dedicated to Sakamichi Brewing, though there are some collaborative efforts on tap. The beers come in one size, which I would say is around 400 ml with prices at ¥990, including tax. I didn’t see any beer flights or takeaway beers on offer, nor was there a happy hour plan either.
Sakamichi North : Food & Menu Information
There isn’t much in terms of food at Sakamichi North, though like the main branch, you can bring in your own food. Just take the rubbish with you please! There was an option for some nuts, and you can also get some pizza delivered in from around the corner.
