Mizonokuchi Warauto Hopper : Aroma & Taste

Do not adjust your screens, Mizonokuchi Warauto Hopper really did pour out that dark, in spite of the bright sunshine from outside. I was most surprised by this colour considering I had drunk it fresh at the brewery less than a week before, and that draught version was much more vibrant than this. However, the aroma was an unmistakable hazy, with a big bold citrus and tropical smell of lemons and limes, with pineapple and mango. With Mizonokuchi Warauto Hopper being a hazy IPA though there was a touch of chloride-like quality to the nose, with an underlying salty aroma present throughout drinking.

That same saltiness though was present in the body – both in the draught version and the bottled version – so someone had perhaps added too much though I am rather sensitive to that particular flavour in a beer. The hops tried to compensate for it, with them being citrus and tropical in their presence, along with a low bitterness to Mizonokuchi Warauto Hopper. The body itself was more medium to full bodied, thanks to the addition of unfermented sugars that were left in the beer.

Mizonokuchi Warauto Hopper : The Bottom Line

Mizonokuchi Warauto Hopper is like the initial hazy IPAs that came out – fruity but loaded with a salty flavour.
