Kobo 3A Lager Aroma and Taste
Kobo 3A Lager poured out a light amber colour with a really large fluffy white head on top that eventually collapsed in on itself. The aroma was of crisp pilsner bite, along with a subtle musty floral aroma – I wouldn’t have guessed that this had Amarillo hops in unless someone had told me before drinking – which noone did! It smelt more noble than fruity – something that Amarillo is known for doing – as Kobo 3A Lager warmed up some more.
From start to finish, Kobo 3A Lager was crisp and dry, and also refreshing to boot. The hops brought a slight bitter bite to take away from a little bit of the pilsner sweetness, but nowhere near of a level to screw your face up. The floral and noble hop like flavour gave Kobo 3A Lager some edge but it was just a nice lager to drink. It’s not going to blow people away – the nature of beer in Japan being that there are a lot of lagers available – but it’s lingering floral notes will last longer than expected in the aftertaste.
Kobo 3A Lager The Bottom Line
Kobo 3A Lager is really nice, well made lager.
