Daisen G Beer European Amber is a 6% American Amber from Kumezakura Brewery, based in Tottori, Japan. It’s part of their autumn seasonal lineup and can be found in bottles and on tap when on sale. It has an IBU of 40 and that’s all the information we’ve got for you.
Daisen G Beer European Amber Aroma and Taste
Daisen G Beer European Amber poured out a dark reddish-brown colour with a plump white head on top that unfortunately collapsed in on itself to leave nothing but a few bubbles around the edge of the top of the beer. Daisen G Beer European Amber had a distinctly smokey, caramel aroma to it, along with an earthy, noble citrus hop aroma too. An interesting nose really on the beer – it wasn’t off-putting but it certainly was a little unusual to be smelling this concoction of aromas.
At an IBU of 40, I expected some bitterness to come through, but if there was, then it was either hiding behind the roasted, smokey, caramel flavours, or the flavours were just a bit shy to come through. Daisen G Beer European Amber was more malt forward than I thought for an American amber, so I’m guessing that’s why it is a European amber perhaps? The lingering smokiness stuck around right through into the aftertaste, along with a slight lemony sweetness to it. Byt that point, Daisen G Beer European Amber had become rather one dimensional and left me wanting for a proper American amber.
Daisen G Beer European Amber The Bottom Line
Daisen G Beer European Amber had an interesting profile to it, but it’s not something I’m in a hurry to try again.
