Le Petit L’Ouest in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo

Le Petit L’Ouest is a shop that we’ve visited before but kind of forgot to do a review of it or post any information, so here we (finally) go. It’s a small little craft beer shop, located about 10 minutes from Shimokitazawa station, with a unifying theme of craft beer and Star Wars. The owners are huge Star Wars fans, and if you follow them on Facebook or Twitter, you’ll see that a fair few of their posts follow that theme.

A decent selection plus some rare beers at times.

Some rare beers from Kamikaze and Hyappa Beer.

For a small store, there is a fairly decent range of craft beer, both domestic and imported, with the majority being the former. There is also some craft beer merchandise on sale, such as glasses and t-shirts, too. Moreover, while technically not a place to drink, the times that we’ve been there, there have been some customers drinking away with purchases from the shop. There is an opening fee of ¥100 per drink though and the maximum amount of people in the group is three or less. The crowd there was both lively and friendly, with plenty of questions about why we bought so many beers and our opinions on the beers too.

If you do happen to order too much, or don’t feel like carrying your purchases, then you can, if you ask very nicely, get the beers shipped to your house, though pricing does depend on how much you order. Unfortunately, there is no online store and no way to check what is in stock unless you make the trip up.
