Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner is a beer from the three star brand brewed by Morita Kinshachi Brewery and is brewed using only German hops and malt. Fermentation for Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner occurs at lower than usual temperatures for a lager. In turn, this gives it a ripening period of one-and-a-half times the normal length for a pilsner.
Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner Aroma and Taste
Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner has a nice bright golden body. The head was fairly frothy and stuck to the glass as the beer went down. The malt aroma was not as strong as I thought it would be; however, it is there and lingered in the glass. A simple but pleasing aroma that also had some fresh-cut grass notes in the mix as well.
The body of Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner was clean and dry, with a bitter kick to it. It reminded me of the Kinshachi Blue reviewed earlier. Could they have been the same beer? The hops were more forthcoming than the Blue but were a fleeting flavour on the palette.
Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner One-Line Review
Mitsuboshi Beer Pilsner is the best beer of the three star range but nowhere near worth the premium price.
