Nobody The Math Rock is a 6% DDH West Coast IPA from Nobody Brewing, based in Tokigawa, in Saitama. It’s part of their canned and draught lineup though its availability is unknown at the time of writing. The beer takes its name from the style of music Math rock, which is characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures, counterpoint, odd time signatures, and extended chords. Finally, it’s unknown what hops went into the making of this beer as Teenage Brewing did not realise that information at all it seems.

Nobody The Math Rock : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste
Nobody The Math Rock poured out a dark honey colour with a small amount of frothy head on top, though that didn’t last long as it faded to a much thinner layer of head with just some bubbles around the edge of the glass.
The aroma was more classic West Coast IPA than modern, in spite of the double dry hopping used. The beer began with a clean dankness to the beer which then dialled back to become a background aroma with a citrus forward nose of lemon and grapefruit behind it all. The hoppiness of the beer was very clean, with just a touch of malt sweetness underpinning it all together as it warms up.
During drinking, the resiny, piney notes remained throughout drinking, right into the aftertaste. With a well-balanced bitterness also remaining during drinking, the citrus notes helped take some of the heavy lifting away from the pine and also provided some extra dimension to the beer. Bringing it all together was a light sweetness that helped bring all the flavours together in the end, with a light, dry body making this a very easy drinking beer.

A cacophony of aromas and flavours could have been messy with a disjointed rhythm, yet the timing brings it all together for a good, easy-drinking beer.
