Rather than writing up individual reviews for these beers, we’ve come up with a page of beers for our recent trip to Tachihi Brewery – which is a brewpub located in Tachikawa, Tokyo. Some of these draught beers are part of their regular lineup, while some are seasonal or limited, so we’ve added that to these reviews.

Tachihi Blueberry Sour : Mini Review
Appearance : Golden hue with a light purple haze supporting. Thin white head on top, clings to the side.
Aroma : Tart sour nose with a slight fruity note of blueberries being present. Light sweetness as the beer warms.
Body : Tart sour start, though balanced with the fruity notes. Crisp body with a lingering fruitiness of blueberry notes. BEST OF THE BUNCH.

Tachihi Pilsner : Mini Review
Appearance : Pale straw colour with a thin white head on top that leaves some streaks down the edge.
Aroma : Light floral noble hop aroma with a touch of malt sweetness in the back. Straightforward on the nose.
Body : Slight bitterness though not overly pronounced. Light floral hop presence with a solid sweetness. Crisp and a touch dry in the finish, great on a hot day.

Appearance : Pitch black body with a large, slightly off-white head. Left some thick streaks down the side of the glass.
Aroma : Coffee and chocolate on the nose, with a light roasted black malt aroma.
Body : Thick bodied with coffee and chocolate notes throughout. Light roasted black malt acridity present though not overpowering.

Appearance : Hazy golden straw colour with a thick white head on top, leaving streaks down the glass.
Aroma : Light citrus and tropical fruit notes. Grapefruit and lemon, with a touch of mango present. Light sweetness from the malts.
Body : Crisp and dry with a light body. Lingering smooth bitterness throughout drinking, with citrus and tropical notes. Smooth and balanced sweetness from the malts.
