Beer : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

Bighand Bros Rhodonite poured out a ruby brownish colour with thick, off-white head, though that didn’t last long as it dissipated to a thin layer of bubbles on top. The one thing to note about this beer is that there is sediment in there, and there were plenty of “bits” floating around as I poured out the beer.

It had a most peculiar aroma – the strawberries and chocolate notes were the first to come through, with a peculiar nose to them. I’ve always though strawberries and white chocolate would go well with one another, yet I’ve never been a fan of milk, or dark as a matter of fact, chocolate with strawberries. There was a light nuttiness bringing it all together, with a touch of sour funk supporting it all throughout drinking.

The body was a peculiar as the aroma, though it started off with a sour twang before segueing into the chocolate and strawberries. Those three flavours were the ones that lingered longest during drinking, but Bighand Bros Rhodonite didn’t really evolve past that.

Beer : The Bottom Line

An interesting take on a style of beer that is dominated by fruit beers though the chocolate note will be strange for some.
