Nobody Brewing : Background

Nobody Brewing is a second craft beer brand launched by Teenage Brewing in Tokigawa, Saitama, on 24 October 2025. While Teenage Brewing had established a reputation for highly creative beers influenced by music, art and contemporary culture, Nobody Brewing was created with a different purpose: to make craft beer more accessible and bring it into the everyday lives of a much wider audience.

The concept behind Nobody Brewing is built around the idea of lowering the barriers that can surround craft beer. Rather than focusing exclusively on experimental or specialist beers, the brand aims to produce approachable styles that can be enjoyed casually and regularly. The initial release consisted of three beers: The Minimal, a 4.5% Pilsner; The Folk, a 5.0% Hinoki Yuzu Ale using locally grown ingredients from Tokigawa; and The Glitch, a 5.0% India Pale Lager. They were initially released in Saitama in 350ml cans, with prices positioned to make them more accessible than many premium craft beers.

The launch represented a deliberate division of roles between the two brands. Teenage Brewing would continue to concentrate on ambitious, innovative beers, while Nobody Brewing would concentrate on expanding the audience for craft beer. The brand’s longer-term ambition is particularly bold, aiming to help increase craft beer’s share of Japan’s domestic beer market to more than 10 percent.

Although Nobody Brewing is closely connected to Teenage Brewing, it has developed its own identity and product range. The brand also retains Teenage’s connection with music, art and local culture, while placing greater emphasis on accessibility and everyday drinking. In this respect, Nobody Brewing represents an attempt to take the creativity of modern Japanese craft beer and introduce it to people who may not normally consider themselves craft beer drinkers.
