Bighand Bros Jasper : Appearance, Aroma, and Taste

It’s apt that this beer is named after Jasper as the colour was not too dissimilar to the stone itself – a slightly dull reddish brown colour with a plump white head on top that left some thick white rings around the edge of the glass.

The aroma was a blend of slight peppery notes and a touch of citrus on the nose, with some lemon and orange just waiting underneath it. In conjunction with this, the malts brought a solid, but light, dusting of caramel and nuttiness to it all, tying the overall aroma together nicely.

The initial sip was a slight bitterness with some peppery notes sliding through it all. The hops were light in terms of flavour, with the same lemon and orange profile being present. Tying it all together was the malt sweetness with the caramel playing off against it all.

Bighand Bros Jasper : The Bottom Line

A solid red ale with a rye twist.
