Tokyo Aleworks IIPA Tropical Flow is an 8.5% double IPA from Tokyo Aleworks, based in Itabashi, in Tokyo. It’s part of their canned and draught lineup, though its availability is unknown at the time of writing. Tokyo Aleworks IIPA Tropical Flow is brewed Magnum, Citra, Cryo Talus, Mosaic, and Cryo Mosaic hops and also took gold medal at the International Beer Cup in 2022.

Tokyo Aleworks IIPA Tropical Flow : Appearance
The beer poured out a hazy dark straw orange colour with a large amount of white head made up of small white bubbles that lingered on top for a while, though there was minimal lacing to the beer.
Tokyo Aleworks IIPA Tropical Flow : Aroma
Large citrus aroma of lemons and oranges, alongside some grapefruit and lime. Tropical fruits were also noted of mango and pineapple. As the beer warmed up, some coconut aroma was also present – a very peculiar, but interesting, mix of hop aroma going on. Medium malt sweetness to balance out the hop aroma too, with no discernible alcohol heat.
Tokyo Aleworks IIPA Tropical Flow : Taste
Medium bitterness that fades quickly to the hop flavours. The hoppy flavours were the same as the aroma at first, so lots of citrus and tropical notes being present. However, it was the coconut profile to the beer that was the most fun and definitely made the beer seem more cocktail like. As Tokyo Aleworks IIPA Tropical Flow warmed up, more of the malt sweetness came through to support the flavours and help them linger.
